*Bajaj experience!
*I had recently shifted to a new house and had a need for some new household appliances to suite my taste. I went in for two Bajaj Euro fans(white colour) for the hall, Bajaj exhaust fan with shutter(black) for the kitchen and a Bajaj FX10 food factory food processor for the kitchen.
Purchase process, pricing and guaranty!(and not waranty?)*
I went to various appliances showrooms to name a few Croma, Vijay Sales, Malaika and Snehanjali to check out the Food Processors. I liked the Bajaj FX10 for the comparative features the price and two years overallv guarantee and 5 years motor guarantee. I finally bought it from Snehanjali that is located very close to my place shearly for the convenience of getting post sales service. SURPRISINGLY The price quoted were the same across all the places I had enquired. We have been using the previous mixer grinder(Kanchan make) for routine purpose since it is still in great shape(we are using it for the last 9 years).
Problems from the begining:|*
The company representative visited my house after two days for a demo. On opening the carton we found the chutney jars rubber gasket to be a dead piece( I wonder how long it can last), the base of the mixer jar was damaged(required fixing that was done after 5days by the service person), the grating jar's base gasket was half bent inside(this too was fixed later).
First hand experience: Juicer the disaster:(*
The first time we used the machine it was to extract lime juice. It did well but left 20% juice in the pulp. After two days we used it again for pineapple juice and Apple juice. It was OK this time. The third time was on the third day when we again used it for Lime juice. To our horor we found one of the component that holds the citrus juicer in it's place(located at the top of the citrus extractor) damaged. It came off and we were unable to use it any further since it made a lot of noise. The service person visited and changed the damaged part after lodging the complaint.
Second time unlucky: The Chutney jar OR biggest hazard:(:(*
We used the chutney jar once and experinced some problems. The machine was not stable on the high speed. It skidded on the kitchen platform. The chutney jar would not stay on the machine if it was not pressed by hand. The Machine threw the lid once throwing all the chutney on the walls and floor. It threw out the jar once. We complained the third time. The service person experienced the same problem and carried the chutney jar with him. He came back the same day with the same jar with a bigger air-opening drilled on the lid. VOILA, THE JAR THREW TWO TOMATOES PASTE ALL OVER THE KITCHEN. You can imagine how furious my wife must have been.
After Sales Service?*
She called me frantically in the afternoon while I was at the office. I spoke to the owner at the service centre and he promised to visit personally to check the machine. It has been over a week now. Even after two calls to his personal number and his promises he is yet to visit. The machine remains as it is. We have not used it over last two weeks now.
Conclusion:
The machine is meant to work for you only for two years till the waranty **(what guarantee?) is available. Throw it after two years since after that it will not be worth maintaining, you would be able to buy a new one at lesser cost.
Overall Bajaj experience*
I had great impression of Bajaj group as a whole before these experiences. That was the reason that I picked up all these things made from Bajaj. One of the ceiling fans started making noise immediately after two weeks of use. Now it has been fixed by the service person. I am using a local brand ceiling fan for last 10 years without a hint of a problem bought at 1/3rd the cost of Bajaj euros . While the exhaust fan stopped working some time ago. It has been fixed too.
Customer is the King? Who said that?
*I am feeling cheated by buying this product alltogether. Please look out for some other make then Bajaj. You buy not quality, not peace of mind but pain to the core.
