Some of the issues I have been facing:

  • I start it and after riding 1 km, the bike itself turns off. Power goes down even when I give accelerator. Then I have to stop in the middle of the road, which is dangerous. Then I turn off ignition and then turn on the bike again.

  • Even after starting, it keeps stuttering. This problem occurs no matter engine is hot or cold.

  • The footpegs are located in a strange position and keep hitting my leg front when I put down my feet in heavy traffic. At end of day, this results in front of foot paining. The footpegs are strangely located in a place where they shouldn't be. This is a power cruiser, so footpegs should be a little forward, not backward.

  • Mileage - It gives me not more than 27 kmpl. This is expected from a powerful motorcycle, but Enfield 350 gives 40 kmpl to my friend.

  • Handlebar - The handlebar and seating position is strange. You are sitting in a sports stance and the handlebar requires you to pull your body forward. this creates pressure on the shoulders and leaves me with pain in the'traps' even after riding 50 km.

  • Non-ABS Grip: Since I was forced to buy non-ABS, the tires are like butter on road. Apply the brakes in emergency and the bike goes slipping like butter. There is no grip at all. Even a pulsar 220 has better grip and stopping power.

  • The biggest negative is the Bajaj's way of dealing with customer. Even before I went to buy, the saleswoman was so much bent on making a sale that she kept calling and annoying me. I wanted non-ABS in White, but the woman said white was available only in ABS. So I had to choose dark blue color. I wanted to wait some time to arrange the money to buy ABS, but she kept forcing me to get the temp number to close the sale on August 31(last day of the month). And when I complained to bajaj customer service, they gave a cold response.

I went ahead with buying this bike because it is a value for money proposition. I mean who gives a 373cc KTM-engined bike for 1.67 lakh(on road). Even a 294cc Mojo costs 2.05 lakh without ABS. But it is the'cheap' bajaj customer experience that is going to prevent this bike from selling.

Value for money is the only reason for buying any Bajaj product, but the company doesn't care about its customers. It sells cheap products and treats its customers cheaply. Even if you are spending less to buy a bajaj bike, at the end of the day it is your hard earned money and bajaj is thankless to you for giving your money to them. So spend a little more and buy from another brand. In addition, since Bajaj has touched this KTM engine, it is going to create problems. That is why I face this "turn-off" problem in the middle of the traffic.

If you want to be treated cheaply, go to bajaj.
