I purchased my discover 150 on 25/01/11 at chennai after struggling very much researching for a nice commuter bike in 150 cc category as I wanted to change my 3.9 yrs old Star City, which I felt incapable of moving me on the heavy chennai traffic roads.

I have to travel daily around 40 KM to and from my office. I have to drop my 4 yrs old daughter at school in the morning on the way to office. Sometimes an outing with wife and daughter, all seemed to be difficult on a 100 cc bike.

I started my research for a new 150 cc bike 6 months back. Most of the bikes in the category seemed to be ineffective for me considering the following:

1) I wanted a pure commuter bike.

2) I wanted my daughter to sit safely on the petrol tank as it is not safe to let her sit in the back seat.

3) I wanted disk brake atleast in the front side.

4) I wanted a kicker to say the machine a bike.

5) I wanted double liver gear shift.

6) I disn't want to spend too much money on fancy.

Due to all these facts I ended my reaserch and finalised deal with Discover 150. It is a very good bike in look and mileage. In fact I surprised to see many people approaching me at signal stops and asking about the performance of the bike.

Now, I am coming to the point, where I got highly disappointed about the product. The gear box of the bike is a total mess. I beleive that the engine and gear box are the main part and safety concern of a bike. It always slips when I go from 3rd to 4th gear. I have to apply the gears with atmost care in order to avoid any wrong happenings. The gear is getting stucked before or after 4th gear. I am very much afraid to ride the bike freely. I wanted to recheck the issue with others as I felt that this issue may be due to my riding conditions. But, heared the same response from other owners of the disco150. The gear slips either in 3rd or 4th gear in mostly all the disco150.

The second issue is with the engine. The engine is getting heated after a short drive, especially in the heavy traffic stop and ride situation. You can feel the heat sometimes warming up your legs.

The third issue is with the auto chock. You can feel the engine is getting risen automatically once you on the power. The engine sometimes, get automatically off after few seconds, especially in the morning time. Absence of a chock is a draw back.

The fourth issue is with Seat. The seat is not convenient for the rider, but it is very nice for the pillion rider. A very hard seat, no sitting comfort at all.

The fifth issue is that the engine looses its smoothness after the engine getting heated. I am very sad to express my feelings since all my efforts used for finding out a good bike went to furtail. Only hope for me is that the Bajaj guys may be able to solve the issue after few services.I have done only 700 KM as of now. I shall update the details after some time.

One thing again. I guess most of the curious on lookers wanted to know the mileage. It is giving me 50Km/L in Chennai hefty traffic. This is one of the achievement the bike has done in 150 cc category.

Your advises, suggestions and all kinds of commends are welcome. I also expect any one of you may give a suggestion to make me love my most desired bike...

THanks to all for reading.
