Hi all! After some years I am back with an other review, this time of Bajaj Discover 150 ( older model) . I purchased the bike in Mar 2012. I wanted a bike in 150cc segment, and one which was light in kerb weight. So I decided to discover the Discover. Initially the bike performed good on mileage. The stylish grafix on the tank too gave an appeal to the bike. I had no problems whatsoever in riding the bike with a pillion rider behind( my previous bike HeroHonda Passion Pro had issues) . So, initially there were not much problems. Everything went good. But after second service from the authorized service station, problems started to pop up.

One day, I went for a 80km ride, to the outskirts of the city and I was in 5th gear, and speeding ahead. Suddenly, for my surprise I realised, that the gear lever, was lost/fallen down somewhere, and I was in shock as to what to do! Then, I realised that it had fallen down somewhere on the way, so I decided to stop. For my bad luck, there were no service centres / spare shops nearby. My bike was stopped in 2nd gear and had to go for 7km to find the bajaj authorized spare shop. I didnot find the right lever there too! But managed to reach back the city and get it fixed. I spoke to one of the local mechanics that I know. He said the lever may not have been fixed properly for which this happened.

Then there was another problem. The gear transition. I have observed that most of the bajaj bikes, be it Discovers or Pulsars make a pathetic 'DHUB' kind of sound when changing gears, and this is really annoying. The gear transition is not smooth at all.

Then came the issues with the electricals. The headlight stopped working and I came to know that the wirings had malfunctioned.

The bike also vibrates after a speed of 110kmph. I wanted to take it above that, but it never was able to go beyond that limit.

There are some pros for this bike as well.

It is a good choice for a economical 150cc bike.

On road price is also moderate and not a expensive one.

Mileage too is a reasonable one around 50kmph.

It is also light in weight, and is advisable for starters who want to explore the 150cc segment.

The bike has a reasonably good pickup and accelaration.

There is nothing much for me to share here.

Hope this review becomes useful to people.
