''What you are reading about is a Winner. No one today better understands motorcycling in India than Bajaj Auto and I say this with utmost sincerity and respect to the other bike makers because, unlike the others who have gone down the same beaten track, the Akurdi, Pune-Based bike maker has pulled out all the stops by thinking radically to come up with an all-new creation.Known as the Discover, its maker's approach on one had is stunning in its audacity while on the other it has paked in sane logical thought to conjure up a machine which not only has the goods on paper but delivers them in actual usage.''

OverDrive, September, 2004

There are three variants or the Discover Trio :

>>>>> Round Head Lamp version is the Entry level offering.

>>>>> Drum Brake version with headlamp fairings, wire wheels and electric start.

>>>>> The top of the line offering is the tasty all-red version with among other things, six - spoke alloy wheels, a front disc brake and a rev counter.

The main features that I would like to comment on are :

STYLE & BUILD : The Discover breaks new ground, for a commuter motorcycle, in that it is designed with a very long wheelbase (1305 mm).It also offers 17'' wheels. The idea is to lower the centre of gravity and to spread the masses equitably front to rear but also to give a very high degree of ride quality and control while yet having decently high levels of manoeuverability. All together the design is fantastic.

SUSPENSION : It offes great ride comfortability.you wont feel like riding it, you will feel like flying the same. The front telescopic forks, with larger and thicker diameter walls and double anti-friction brushes, feature dual rated springs with optimised damper valving.The same holds true for the rear end with the 5-way adjustable shock absorbers featuring triple rated springs to give good ride and control.

ENGINE : The bike features the DTSi (Digital Twin Spark Ignition) Engine, which offers complete combustion of the fuel thus getting the maximum out of the fuel. The already impressive thermodynamic levels are enhanced by the ExhausTEC which spreads the 10.8Nm tourque available not just from low down helps the engine to keep on making usable power right through the highest recesses of its rev range.

Thus altogether the bike is a Beauty -- in style, comfort, ride handling, mileage, and performance.

Fuel Economy : Overall -> 65 - 70 kmpl

Highway -> 70 - 75kmpl

Worst -> 53 kmpl

Top Speed - 112 kmph 0 - 60 km in 6.4 seconds
