Well, Discover shd be on your mind only if u consider the 125-135cc bracket first of all.Though some bikes such as Bajaj’s own XCD and TVS flame are giving it a run for its money, Discover would be a sensible buy.
PROS
First of All, the ride control and Handling is Excellent, i must admit.It is one of the most stable bikes I hav ever driven in this category.The Discover scores in the looks dept as well, with its neat curves and lean-muscular tank!!!
The gear-box is pretty notchy though 1 sometimes feels the need for a 5th gear!!! The gear ratios are well caliberated and there is no problem whatsoever.... The throttle is responsive and the engine as smooth as silk.
Even the service is good compared to Honda and TVS. And its maintainance n Service costs are frugal compared to any other byk in this segment!!!! The headlight with its pilot lamps is stunning as well as functional.The disc brakes are also responsive (prevented me fm close encounters!!!)
CONS
However, the build quality is not great as compared to Honda SHINE or even FLAME...Even the paint quality is cheap, and the gaurd and Silencer paint begin to Scale or Chip after a few months.....The disc brake version without a chaingaurd is open to Air, Dust which might create rumbling sound if the conditions are muddy..But I managed to get it fixed in my first Service.
The other imp. factor is Mileage...I would Giv it 6/10 for mileage..my byk gives me 55kmplin city conditions which is much lesser than XCD or FLAME...The pillion rider seat is not broad enough and might pose discomfort for fat or huge persons.Moreover, the byk is compact and slim which means that it is more sensible for lean and tall drivers...
My LAST WORD Go for DISCOVER if ur looking for frugal maintainence and Service costs(SPARE parts are the cheapest).It basically is a sporty, peppy byk suitable for youth tho I find middle-aged men drivin it.. It is decent in mileage(XCD d BEST) and gives good throttle response(Capable of 100kmph!!!) Especially suitable for first time buyers....OVERALL A GOOD PACKAGE!!!!
