Itzz me Nikky back once again. My bike has covered 5200 kms and done with the 3rd service. I was very disappointed with ma bike as it just used to give me 50kmpl and at times 35-40kmpl. I was a regular customer to popular to check my mileage. Mileage test on the machine showed I am getting 70 and on road test showed I am getting 65. But the fact is while I ride I used to get 30-45 and max 50. It used to vary.After the 2nd service I could hear sound coming from the engine. I was even scared to ride ma bike.
I became a common visitor of popular the place where I purchase the bike. I desperately waited for my 3rg service and 3rd service I gave the bike to Popular Banshankari Brank. I warned the manager that a complaint will be sent to Bajaj if my bike is not serviced to my satisfaction. Also I told that the bike will remain there if it is not properly serviced. I gave the bike morning at 7. I collected it at evening 5. Rather strange they compelled me to fill a satisfaction survey which I blindly ignored. They told there was leak from my fuel tap and it was the reason 4 low mileage. Also I had to change some time machine crap in order to remove the sound of the engine.
Now I am getting 60+ on bangalore roads. Also ma bike has become smooth and there is no sound from the engine. Still I do not like the seating comfort of Discover... Itzz really a pain to ma crotch if gone 4 long rides. I am very happy with ma bike now as I did a long journey from Bangalore to Cochin on my bike and was very glad to see the change. It is really a jadoo....Guys.............. DISCOVER.............. Itzzz an awesome bike........... provided the mechanic / service station is good. **So plz take good care to take your bike to the best service station and be really really bad to the service manager of the service station if you want your bike in very good condition.
The only problem I see with Discover is the seating comfort. They should design the seat like that of Yamaha Gladiator...........name is Nicky, I bought Discover DTS-i on Feb 9th 2007. I had to make a choice between Suzuki Zeus and Honda Unicorn. I did a lot of research and finally decided to take Discover. I had a very good time riding my bike. Me being a speedster kept cool and managed to maintain a speed between 45-50. I really wanted the max out of my bike so took special care not to cross 50.Initially I was getting a mileage of 50km/l and the bike ran pretty good with no complaints till the first service. On 9th of March Idid a great mistake by giving my bike for service inBajaj popular, bannerghatta branch , bangalore.
Once after the 1st service I could see a decrease inpickup and mileage. Mileage reduced to just 40km/l. Also the engine was getting heated up very very soon(just in 5km). I took my bike once again, did a road test, they tried to convince that I would get 55 which I was least interested. I left my bike there. Once after I collected my bike in the evening, I could see that the pickup had increased. After getting back home I came to know thatmy petrol was overflowing. I nearly lost 1 litre of petrol. I called up the manager of Popular and asked him to get a person to my house to get my bike done. **They had to replace the fuel tube as it was broken.
I went there for the 3rd day to get the issue regarding mileage sorted out. they asked me to come the next day as their expert in bikes was absent. 4th day I got the issue cleared. But they say that the heat from the engine is normal and I do not trust that. So guys of Banglore..... please don't give your bike for servicing in Popular Automobiles, bannerghatta branch.I am happy with my bike. Now I am getting a mileage of 58km/l in the crowded roads of B'lore and I'm happy with that.As I used to have Yamaha rx 100 and shogun.... I do not think that the pick up is that good, Itzzz just okay. manageable.Comfort.... no.... seating ain't that good.
It would have been sexy if they had designed the seat like that of pulsar or Gladiator JA(best comfort). Your crotch gets paralyzed if ya go for long rides.......lolLooks.... o http://www.... I really loved the looks of old discover... the one without graphics.... It really looked like a kid pulsar. These unwanted graphics has spoiled the looks of the bike.I really loved the braking system of this bike. Also the technology they introduced in the shocks is good. Gear is a bit tight. Guys........................ pz plz plz lemme know wat can be done to reduce engine heat.... or do ya think It is common for all Discover 125 DTS-i's????????????
