Here is review on bajaj discover dtsi (ES version) which I bought on nov2004.bike has already clocked 32300kms.

First of all let me go through the positive aspects about this bike

1)Styling and power: the styling of discover is inspired by the great looking pulsar. It weighs 129kg. It is powered by DTSI (digital twin spark plug ignition)engine which delivers 11.5 horses which is best in its class. The pickup is simply great. The bike can also be ridden at 25kmph at top gear which mean the bike has goos low end torque. The top speeds achieved by me in discover is 110kmph.There is no bike in 125cc class which can deliver such a great top speed. If u don’t trust me take a discover for a ride and find it out.

2)Ride and suspension: The suspension is amazing(even better than pulsar). This is another aspect where discover outshines (Hero Honda are u listening??).The bike is smooth till it reaches 80kmph after that engine is a bit on the nosier side. Pillion comfort is also good.

3)Milleage: Here is the norm which decides the fate of the bikes in Indian market (This is why the karizmas and pulsar 180’s are not very successful inIndia).Basically mileage depends more on the riding habits of the person than the bike condition. I’m a rash driver. The maximum mileage I achieved on discover is 73 on highways. On the consistent basis I get around 55 to 60.If the bike is ridden consistently at 50kmph then the mileage of 65 can be easily achieved(I have tested it myself)

4)Maintenece: Oil change and service every 2500 KMS.fork oil, spark plugs to be changed every 10000kms. I haven’t encountered any major problems with this bike. Changed chain sprockets at 25000kms(costs around 700 rs)

Now let’s go through the other side of the coin

1)I always miss a fifth gear especially on the highways. This is a disadvantage especially for speed lovers like me.

2)The bike gets heated up in long journeys .I has enquired about it to the service centre. they said it is because of DTSI engine which produces more power than ordinary engine as a result the bike heats up.This is normal.

3)The gear shifts are a bit noisy but I never encountered any false neutral problems like some of the reviews here say. I think they are not applying the clutch correctly. Instead of blaming it to the bike they should learn to drive correctly.

CONCLUSION: Well, if u want to buy a stylish looking 125cc bike with great power and good mileage then discover is the one for you. There is no other bike in 125cc which would live up with discover.Just look at the sales of bajaj disocver and compare it with other 125cc's.yeah..surely jadoooo roooocks.Don't think twice go for it KYA PATHA KAL HO YA NA HOO.
