Let me start with my first day experience with this bike. I took delivery one fine evening during July 2010, (indeed it became a frustrating evening), I went home and then started to temple to do pooja for new bike, on the way I heard a ‘daaarrrr…’ sound from the chain sprocket and every one on road started looking at me(just imagine how would I have felt with a new bike in such a situation), I rang up to the dealer but by that time the sales men, workshop mechanic and every one left the office, so I had no option other than rolling my new bike to home for more than a km. I asked for some other bike, but the dealer said that the bike went for registration and it is not possible and they assured of getting it serviced and they did it.

Till today the chain makes sound, if I tight the chain it becomes more stiff and if I loose it, then it becomes very loose.

I have heard from the user of this bike that they get good mileage but I get only 60kmpl.

Pick up is very very low. One can’t even overtake a govt town bus with this bike. In city limit the bike can maximum clock up 45kmph and in highways 55 to 60 and very hardly 65kmph. If we accelerate beyond this limit the engine knocks as if there is no fuel in tank. This engine knocking prob was there in early days even if accelerated beyond 45kmph. Now after an year and 8 months and regular service this prob is some what refined.

The bike looks pretty good, but engine is not that much reliable. Brakes are really good in this segment. But sudden brake makes the rear wheel to shuffle instead of skidding.

Apart from chain prob, one more bigger prob I’m facing is with clutch. In tight traffic one has to hardly release the clutch, the engine rattles with a sound if the bike is rode in tight traffic. Really it is horrible to ride this bike in tight traffic, we have to accelerate before even releasing the clutch or else the piston will hit.

Preethi Bajaj, Salem is the dealer from whom I got this bike. The worst ever dealer is this dealer. During the second free service, they didn’t even water wash the bike fully, the mud under the engine, side stand and main stand are as is it and when I asked about this, they bluffed by saying something and they washed the bike again and delivered to me. They feel themselves as nawabs and look the bike owners who come for service as their servants. I experienced very arrogant behavior from this dealer. Service is also very worst. Once I complained to the bajaj customer care centre and I received a call from the dealer that they will fix my problems, I went again but even then the service was very poor. I went a bit delay for the last free service, the dealer said that they wont take the bike for free service since the service is lapsed by kms run, even though it was alive by time. Then I got my bike serviced with an outside mechanic and by this way I lost my warranty too. The dealer cannot expect one to be at his work shop exactly at 9000kms where the service becomes due, why cant he accept if the bike has run 9010kms or 9025kms or 9050kms. It sounds quite illogical. Sure bajaj has to look into these problems or else will have to lose its reputation.

During early days, the chain sprocket sound, poor mileage, engine knocking prob made me very frustrated and I was really hating bajaj to the core. Now I became habitual to these problems and looking forward to dispose of this bike. I took an year 8 months to write this review, because had I wrote a review at the earlier days sure I would have exploded in that frustration and it would be like firing bajaj, so I decided to take some time and get some patience to write a good and decent review.

The good side of this bike is that we can’t get a 100cc bike in this price with these specifications. The bike comes with alloy wheels, gas-filled shock absorbers(shock absorbers are pretty good), trip meter, good braking system, ride control(ofcourse no need for ride control to this bike), city lamps, great styling, fully black engine, good mileage etc. In this bike segment one cannot get any other bike with all these features in the price of this bike.

To sum up, except for engine the bike is good, but the main component is engine where this bike fails to score. I would not recommend this bike to any one except those who want only good mileage and nothing else from a bike.

Thanks for your patience reading,
