I am owner of Calier115. Heard Caliber 115 production stopping. Is it really true ?
Can anyone post actual information, will be great.
My 115 is 1yr old, giving 65kmpl at city riding. Done 4 servicings.
NEW DELHI: As part of its product portfolio realignment, Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL) may pull out its 115-cc Caliber mobike after the roll-out of its next big-ticket launch, the Discover. Reason: the prospect of cannibalisation.
?The Caliber pull out may be necessary because the Discover is going to be very aggressively priced and the Caliber will be its first casualty,? say company sources. Auto industry sources say the pull out is expected in October, given that the Discover launch will take another month.
At Rs 38,694 (ex-showroom, Delhi) ? on-road price, Rs 41,400 ? the Caliber has been cannibalised by the Wind 125, which also had a tag discount of Rs 3,000. While both models will be hit by the Discover, analysts say the Caliber will be worse off because it does not enjoy the kind of export demand that the Wind attracts. BAL is likely to wait for the stock-out of the Caliber before officially pulling it out.
