I share a great bond with my first bike the Caliber 115, Hoodibabaaa.I had bought it as a second from a friend. The bike was a 2003 make and I bought it almost after 4 years. The bike wasnt in all the best looks and condition. But came at a meagre 15k for me... another 4k for the patch works and taxes.
It came as a surprise to me when the bike responded so well to me when I started it at first kick. That too without changing the battery. The most interesting part of the story is that, I didnt know how to ride a bike till last year, never understood what gears were for or what clutch was, but could drive a kinetic honda..ps:i turned 23 last yr...hehehee...thing was I only wanted to learn onĀ my own bike.
Nyways, it took me only 1 long drive to learn driving. And fell in instan love with the bike.
Now after getting some servicing done at Auto Bajaj, the bike feels better than when I bought it and easily jjumps to 80k in no time. I have reached 90-95k, but pulled mysef back from reaching 100K.
The bikeĀ is still as sturdy and solid as ever. Mileage was a good 60kmpl, till it was one day tampered by a stupid mechanic. Now after getting that fixed im getting 50kmpl.
Always a good buy, even the mechs at Bajaj woe to see this bike off the roads, Hope Bajaj gets an updated Caliber back on the streets, maybe in the 135cc segment as I see that neither the XCD nor the new Pulsar are doing so well, with Discovery being a failure. This is a fiil it, shut it, forget it Bike, 0% maintenance.
A 5th gear was missing however and maybe some more cc to push the bike ahead.
