This is a review written in 2013 about a very old bike just to provide some insight on what a good bike should have. I have a passion pro with me and I am extremely displeased with it. I am not a racer or mad max kind of guy but just want to move around with my bike with less headache shifting gears and able to decently handle the bike with a pillion behind me. It turned out my passion pro fails miserably to satisfy both to the slightest level. It ain’t given me either mileage or performance and proved bad overall.

I gave my bike for service and took a Boxer as a replacement. I rode it for several days in a row and to my surprise boxer was excellent on many levels. It can easily pull two heavy adults away on any kind of roads with very smooth spread of power on all gears. What I mean is when a certain gear is underpowered for the load, the boxer will slow itself down but will not switch off or knock or strangle itself to death, when we drop down the gear the bike will move like a charm.

The passion pro is the opposite, dropping down the gear due to lack of power will knock the engine, it will scream and slows down abruptly. There is absolute loss of continuity and uneven spread of pulling torque when shifting the gears downward. With a pillion it is a nightmare with my passion pro but in case of boxer I will gladly consent to keep them coming.

Mileage of boxer is also huge. My Pro gives an average of 50-55kmpl. As Boxer lacks fuel indicator I gave a similar treatment of refueling it like my passion pro. One day I checked the petrol tank thinking the bike would be on reserve by now but to my surprise I could see that about half the tank seemed full indicating there are several liters present. I asked myself what heck kind of bike is this.

The bike is excellent when ridden under 50kmph. Mileage, ride pleasure and safety can be obtained under that speed. Boxer is great for carrying loads and cruise in city conditions like streets, main roads, crowded places etc.  Boxer is not at all doing well above 50kmph and sudden breaking will skid and prove hazardous for the rider. Do not go for boxer if you want to ride above 50kmph.

The bike is very small and cramped for anyone above 5 feet. The suspension is not that good. The ride quality is below average and it is best used for short rides. For persons above 5 feet Special modifications may be required in increasing the height of fork and back shocks and remodeling the foot rest through welding and decreasing its height and installing heavy shock absorbers only if you are very serious in using the bike. Since the engine is designed by Kawasaki, the bike is dependable for long rides only if you cruise under 50kmph. It is much reliable and would not cause much trouble in maintenance.

I have written a review on passion pro in my profile, I have ridden many bikes including Suzuki hayate, old passion plus, dream yuga, star city, boxer etc., From all the bikes Hayate has excellent pickup and VFM product, dream yuga has lower pickup but provides additional mileage, passion plus does not have the problem I stated above. Passion pro is sh*t. Boxer is an excellent choice for using it as a secondary, short range, high mileage bike on par with large cc motorcycles or cars.
