India has a limited market for the affordable cruisers and one of the most popular and affordable motorcycle in this segment is Bajaj Avenger 220. The company promotes the bike with a tagline- “Feel Like God”, which describes the comfortable design and power packed performance of the machine. The bike is inspired by the japanese auto make- Kawasaki’s Eliminator and looks much similar to it. However, there are lots of improvements in the latest Avenger model.
Bajaj Avenger was launched in January 2001 with a 180cc air-cooled, single-cylinder Kawasaki engine. Consequently the Kawasaki single was swapped with the native unbeaten 200cc DTS-i engine in 2007. Again the company replaced this mill with their flagship 220cc engine in July 2010, to increase the cruising range.
In its newest version, Bajaj Avenger 220 DTSi is one of the chief reasonably priced and powerful motorcycles existing in the Indian market today. The bike features 60/55W headlight bulb, long handlebars, less meander height, multi-spoke edge, long backrest for passenger and rectangular rear view mirrors. The instrument panel of the bike is analogous and the fuel gauge is integrated at the center of fuel tank along with the other indicators.
