Well, After reading Mouthshut for more than a year, I started writing this review on my Second love Avenger. It has been more than 1 year and 8 months with Avenger(15000+kms). I believe my review is going to be useful for people looking to buy this bike. Luckily Avenger200 (from 180cc) was introduced at the time of my purchase.

I read all the reviews on MS before purchasing Avenger, it helped me a lot. Since from my college days(4 years ago) I am big fan of avenger. As soon as I got my first salary I bought this beauty with the help of ICICI finance from bangalore.

First experience:

I had called up khivaraj motors, kastur ba road, bangalore and asked them I want test ride the bike, next day a sales guy came near my office with bike and I rode the bike near my office campus for 2-3 kms.. oh.. It was difficult to ride for the first time, after some time it was wonderful experience..

How to Book/Buy vehicle: It is simple, go to khivaraj motors, kastur ba road, bangalore with cash(or Proofs, in case if u want finance, there'll be many people to help you on this). After booking my bike(black color) and loan got sanctioned from ICICI bank, I couldn't  wait for 10-14days(This is the usual wait period for delivery) so I went back to the same sales guy who had come to my place with bike for test ride. I gave him 1000 bucks and My bike was ready with in 2days with registration.

Initial Maintanance:

  1. Do not ride beyond 50kmph till 1000kms and beyond 60kmph till 2000kms, believe me it gives good results later.

  2. You may face some problems initialy and don't worry they are all temporary.

Problem which I faced:

  1. My Speedometer stopped working after 1000kms

Solution: I got new one as bike was in Warranty period.

  1. After couple of months front wheel had severe wobling.

Solution: I had to take the wheel to MRF office(which is at hosur road, bangalore), as it was in warranty, I got it a new tyre.

  1. Speedometer wire stopped working after I rode bike on a pathetic road.

Solution: I had to replace it with the cost of 50bucks.

  1. I had severe problem with bike's misfiring (throttle was not functioning properly).

Solution: Got it repaired with free of cost.

  1. There have been minor...

( Remember:Every problem has a solution)

After one year of purchase I'v not faced any problem with my bike

but Who cares when you Enjoy riding...!!!!!!

Maintanance:

  1. need service for every 2500kms, It will cost you around 400 to 500rs free service(5), and 700 to 800 for paid service.

  2. Its a good habit of lubricating chain for every 700kms. bcos it has open chain (there is nothing to cover chain for a stylish look).

Pros/Turn ons:

  1. Undoubtably the best in its class(Cruiser).

  2. It gives decent milage(38-40kmpl in city, upto 45kmpl on highways) and depends on your initial maintanance.

  3. People will keep looking at your bike wherever you go and ask you whats the price of the bike/whats the milage.. I am very sure, if you take this bike to any village, people will keep staring at your bike (you know, there is no marketing of avenger in small towns).

  4. At a strech you can ride more than 100+kms with out any pain/strain

  5. It has got pretty good Pick-up.

  6. As all you know Avenger 200 will not come with kicker, But don't worry you'll never get starting problem, the self starter is pretty good. Personally I never got any problem for 20+months..

7.100% perfect bike for long rides (I have done many with ease.)

  1. It is very very very very comfortable bike (You don't feel like riding any bike after ride this). The Rider seat is designed very well....

  2. Bike's Head light is exceptionally good(better than any bike in india), You can easily/happily ride at night with Super Bright light.

Last but not least, you feel like God when you are on bike

Cons/Turns offs:

  1. Bike is big and heavy (not suitable for very weak personolities) but not for me(I am 6')..

  2. Brakes are not good enough for this big body. (disk brake is good and rear brake sucks)

  3. can't take u-turns as easily as other bikes (but people will be Staring at ur bike when u r turning SLOWLY).

  4. It is very very good for very good roads and VERY VERY bad for VERY VERY bad raods.

5.There is no place in bike keep your belongings. (I use tool box to keep my DL, insurarance etc)

  1. Nothing much.....

Tips for Guys with Girl friend(s.?):  As there will a lot of gap b/w rider and the pillion, she can't hug you all the time (u may have to apply sudden brakes often...lol)..

And its not comfortable for Pillion rider who has got Big A** as the rear seat is not big enough (I am very lucky in this case as my Gf is slim enough). It has back rest so that she can rest comfortably.

Suggestion: Use SHELL petrol, It gives you better milage(+4-6kms per litre) and decent ride, TRIED and Tested.

Comparision B/W Avenger and Thunderbird:

This is the most common thing people do think when they have to purchase..

Its Simple...

TB is Heavy, Not economical, Expensive than Avenger, It need lot of maintanance, but it is ROYAL(no doubt about it.), Service is almost double the cost of Avenger.

Avenger is economical, comfortable, affordable, u know both bikes Max speed is almost similar (110 to 120Kmph).

BOTTOM LINE:

Hey who want to ride similar bikes like apache, pulasr, unicorn, Fz and bla bla....

Try this bike, its different and perfect..

Just go for it...

As this is my first review, I might have not written properly, Comments are welcome and I will keep updating it.

Happy Riding,

Raju
