My Avenger has done 12500 kms since March of 2006. Riding good and long is the need of the day for me. Love the bike for the comfort and the power. I am only saddened by the gear box missing neutral at most stop-and-go traffic condition and pathetic workmanship of the Bajaj Workshop.
I wish to know a couple of things from seasoned Avenger riders. I have this funny knocking noise near the base of the cylinder box, specially in between 60 and 80 kmph speeds. Secondly the vehicle heats up, even on 30 mins of 40kmph runs. I have tried all permutation and combition of driving speeds but its all the same. Thirdly, need advice on use of synthetic oil instead of the normal 4stroke oil being used as standard.
The latest issue of OVERDRIVE Magazine gives the mileage as 51kmpl. Wish to know how much do you get out of a litre of SPEED / POWER fuel.

The DTS Fi is due in November and prices are slated to be around 90K. In all probability, and as per Bajaj Auto's trend, we ought to see the Avenger in Fi avtaar in another 12 months. That would be swell.
The all down gearbox being not fitted in Avenger, I would reckon that the Pulsar 180 gearbox was taken lock, stock and barrel. Even the gear ratios have not been modified much except the fifth gear.
I am really looking forward for a long trip when I take up the long earned vacation. I would be looking forward for a 2-3 weeks riding trip.
