The Perfect Cruiser. Review on Bajaj Avenger

Hey guys, i've been riding this bike fr 3 yrs now n hve clocked close to 30ks now, wdout any major glitch or any breakdown.

I still remember while upgrading from Enticer i'd shortlisted Unicorn and Avenger but bought dis babe as u say 1ce u ride a cruiser u stuck to, it traveled a lot on dis babe mostly in city traffic, initially handling was a lil tough as was not used to disc braking.

If u use front brake while turnin even wd ur foot down god help u (dat is initially), ppl say dis bike has a low turn radius but u can overcum it by tilting it a bit while making a short turn but dnt try it if u dnt knw ur bike or are new fr ur bike.

I've never used power booster petrol in dis still not convinced it enhances performance (till sumbdy proves me wrong) yes have tried NOs in ma tyres it has helped a lil say the handling improved by sumthin around 8-10% still worth it I feel.

Dis babe handles really well in ghats n high gravity roads, the pickup is excellent even if the combined weight of the riders is around 150kgs, the grip is superb, u can ride in 2nd gear even on steep uphill.

One thing I wud suggest is olways start ur bike using the kick start option u will save a lot on ur starter maintenence n battery I follow a strict routine after 6 hrs of rest fr bike olways kick start it, use d clutch only wen needed wud also save a lot of fuel, my bike gave me around 40-45 on highway and 35-38 in city considering the roads I travel dis is fairly gud wd a pillion rider most of the time.

After 3 yrs d only parts i've changed or had to change is d clutch wire and brake pads, the quality of chrome can be improved it dsnot match dat of Eliminator, nor does d engine refinement, initially the bike used to overheat pretty fast but now its ok, the firing is still crisp.

Although the rear shock abs makes a lot of chirpping while riding wd a pillion rider i've seen dis prob wd most of the Avengers some more some less but the problem is der n needs to be rectified maybe a hydrolic suspension can solve it, apart from all dis its a perfect cruiser.

U can take on any bike wd dis 1 if u trust ur bike n rRajeev_Vermact it, I remember 1ce a taxi brushed me while riding at around 40 kmph, the poor guy lost his door handle the bike remained unscratched wd me intact just had a lil scratch on my fist but dats ol dis is a real tough bike and a safe 1 to ride to I travelled wd my wife to office regualarly even wen she was 9 mnths pregnant she trusted my bike more den a cab, dat I think explains the ride quality and comfort, although the pillion seat is not meant fr long drives the comfrt level is quite gud.

So over all a gud bike fr ol ages, ppl rRajeev_Vermact u on cruiser n u enjoy ur rRajeev_Vermact.Would keep updating dis as I recall more.... Plzz gve suggestions if any.Would like to mention here that in the morning as soon as you start ur bike engage it in 2nd gear 1st and then d 1st gear dis way you wont feel the knock every bike give in d morning, n keep the accelerator low while engaging it in gear......

After 6 years of riding it.....

I finally forgive the makers of Avenger for refinment issues in their engines (changed the lubrication used Honda lubricant the engine seems new)..

I Forgive the gov for the type of roads we have (they are light years behind as compared to the quality of vehicles we have on road) avenger handles it pretty well if riding at decent speed..

I Forgive the gov again for the rising petrol prices I travel 40kms daily with an avg speed of about 60-70 get a decent avg of about 40 in mixed condition of traffic (quite affordable to me)...

I Forgive the puny 100cc wanabes who stress their engines to either match me or go past me @ 100kms/hr while m cruising ( I rarely go at dat speed now a days n mainly coz I have a family now)...

I Forgive the rickshaws, taxis, odr bikers who drive as if they r d only drivers on the road (as m in cntrl of my avy most of the time).....

I Forgive the horn lovers behind me and odr vehicles as well (they ride with their thumbs or hands on horn rather then concentrating to cntrl their rRajeev_Vermactive vehicle) I allow dem to pass wd a smile n later go past dem wd a broader 1......

I Forgive my friends who dint like the idea of me buyin an Avenger, they never thout it wud last a tenure of 5 years (my bike stand wd head high among theirs age of our bikes are almost the same n my avy shows no sign of aging in looks or performance)....

I ask my avy to forgive me fr driving it in knee deep water in every rains of mumbai, not applying antirust in that season, for parking it in sun (p.s gettin a parking spot wd shade is a boon in mumbai) although it nevve complaind.............

I ask to be forgiven by my lil daughter who traveld wd her mom to office n back for 9 mnths (a gud 30kms everyday) when she was in her womb (she is about to turn 4 nxt mnth n proudly says this is her bike)..

I asked to be forgiven by my friends whom I have subjected to torture in d back seat in high speed on potholes........

Finally I ask to be forgiven by my Avenger 1ce again to have the thought of selling it and buying another1... its here to stay wd me... mayb sumday its actual owner (my lil daughter) will take her for spin.......
