I had been reached out by a Bajaj allianz Sales telemarketing team last year(Oct-2010) and they promptly lured me into switching into Bajaj allianz. For my grave bad luck I had an accident in which some motor cycle guy banged from behind the car on airport road and my rear bumper had to be replaced. First Bajaj allianz had promised that they have cashless settlement with my regular service centre(but came to know that it was not the case). from the date of intimating the accident it took them 2 months to respond via e-mail asking for filling in the claim form and send it to them by e-mail which I promptly did. it took another 1 month when some second person wrote another e-mail asking to do the same, which I did again after forwarding the earlier e-mail. Then I received a letter from them stating that my case is pending because I have not yet submittd my claim form. Then I wrote e-mail and called several people at bajaj allianz, finallyagreed on phone(still no official confirmation). Its already 4 months and I had been on 3 trips to US on my official work in between, every time I come back I had to follow up on this. after 5 months there was a letter that landed in my house which read "since you had not paid your no-claim bonus of 20% and you had a earlier claim with your earlier insurer let us know why we shouldn't cancel your policy". I was really pissed off this time and I consulted my lawer. 1.My switch to bajaj allianz was initiated by Bajaj allianz telemarketing who had all my earlier details of my car, insurance and my personal house address. If that is the case, 1. where did they get my personal details from? 2. If they had all my personal details how come they didn't know the history of my car. I wrote the same in an e-mail and escalated to their Regional managers. after another 2 weeks(its totally 6 months by now since I filed my claim). After another 2 weeks somebody(dealmaker from bajaj) called me and said, we are ok to provide you the insurance but we need to recover the 20% no-claim bonus from your claim sir which is around INR 2400. Then he also said, the claim includes a body dent, we are not including that in your claim(god only knows the logic) and also labor you will have to bear. after all the calculation, he said they will pay me INR600(yes you heard it right, rupees six hundred) against a claim of INR8, 000/- which I had paid from my pocket. think of this, they have pocketed a cool INR7, 200/- from me as premium and made me run around for the next 8 months. it didn't end there, I am yet to receive my INR600/- as promised by Bajaj allianz. It is time for my next premium and I have switched to a government run insurance as advised by my Life insurance agent. I am contemplating going to court, I know that will mean spending more and more time wasted in already busy schedule, but hey I need to do my duty. Just like what Bajaj allianz did, I will take my own sweet time and when I have all the time in this world, will go to court. I wish no-one else go through the same pain again and get robbed in broad daylight, so please spread the word, that money is better spent on some charity. I wish I find the time to put together a blog and put in all details there, which I definitely will do. If you need more details, please reach out to me at prabudkp@hotmail.com. If you are from Bajaj allianz, stay away.
