"Bahrain." I thought to myself. Should I say yes or should I refuse? I could be walking out of that door with a smile on my face for achieving a growth in my professional career or a feeling of emptiness that I carried along with me in my four years of stay in Dubai.

It was a good two minute silence in the room. We stared at each.I smiled.shook his hand and said "I'll take it". I was making a decision of relocating from the most happening place in the GCC to a very laid back, not-so-dynamic country called Bahrain.

Stories of how slow the country is despite its strong monetary value, the industry, etc etc was running in my head. But I said to myself "Everyone needs a fresh start to carry on from where he has stopped." And today I look out of my office to a spectacular penthouse view of the sea thinking to myself "sometimes gamble does pay-off".

Bahrain- a country which people have under-estimated its presence, honest to say I too was one among them. I thought of it as a small island where lifes on the easy side, people do not force themselves into progressing, less entertainment, small social scenes.

I was an inch closer to believeing that what I had perceived was true the moment I stepped out of the airport but I had to quickly put away my ideas the moment the trip from the airport to the accomodation started. Skyscrapers in Manama, the upcoming bahrain financial harbour and world trade center, was a treat to watch.

I quickly searched my way through the info. netwroks about the social scenes in Bahrain and trust me it would give Dubai a run for its money. The pubs are of international standards, the food is great and  most of the hotels have excellent facilities.

This is a place I wanted to be all the time, a place better than Dubai in its quality of life less the stress that Dubai has to offer. Rents are cheap, the economy is stable, the natives are well educated and very respectful. With the main population consisting of Indians its a home away from home.
