Baghban - SOOTHING. Review on Baghban

Baghban is reminds one of the 80's hit Avataar. After retirement Raj Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan) has his hopes on his four sons (Aman Varma, Samir Soni, Sahil Chada and Nasir Khan) to support and take care of him and his wife Pooja (Hema Malini). The children as in most filmi families are sweet hoping that their father will offer them money. But when they learn that he does not have any money with him and that whatever he had he had invested in them, they create a sorry situation as each of the son wants to avoid taking responsibility of his father and mother.

The poor parents have to live separately in this age as children decide to share responsibility. Raj Malhotra is compelled to live with his two sons while Pooja is compelled to live with the other too. Not being able to meet they sings songs over the phone while the sons and daughter-in-law makes life miserable for them.

The first half is predictable while the second half that is uplifting especially when Raj decides to write a book about such a family. Aman, Samir, Sahil and Nasir play their characters. Mahima Chaudhary does not have anything to do in the film. The presence of Paresh Rawal and Salman Khan add an impact. Aadesh Shrivastav's tunes are good.

Hema Malini looks gorgeous as ever and is a refreshing change to watch. And of-course there is Amitabh Bachchan for whom the film is worth watching is. He is excellent as Raj Malhotra conveying love, anger and pain through his intelligent eyes. Bachchan makes the film worth a watch!
