I visited Goa last month and made it a point to see as many beaches as possible. On day three of my trip I visited Baga Beach. I had a lot of expectations from this beach. However, at the end of the day, I was quite disappointed with Baga.
This beach can be accessed from all parts of Goa. Mainly for this reason perhaps it stays extremely crowded. I reached the beach around 3:30 PM and it was already crowded. The presence of more people made the beach unnecessarily dirty. While walking on the beach, I came across numerous food packs and plastic bottles. Obviously, they were not a pleasant sight to look at.
Being a person to whom peace matters a lot, the crowd and the noise generated by them, turned out to be an altogether unpleasant experience! Therefore, I firmly believe that this beach is not for those who are planning to spend some really quiet moments with their partners or friends. There's not much to speak about local sightseeing as well!
This beach is good for those who love water sports. However, the charges are higher than most of the other beaches in Goa. And if you consider the safety factor, then although lifeguards are available here; they are not in adequate numbers. The only plus point that I found is that there's no dearth of hotels and accommodations near the beach.
