Coming on to the location and Major Tourist Information about the Temple and Near-By
As we earlier said that the temple is located at a very high altitude. So, the means of transport are little less to reach the temple although to enter the city the ways of transport are very easily available.
The First and most common means of Transport is the Road ways and is linked by all road transport facilities available for public by state government and also many private travel agencies who offer many tour packages for making them travel the whole city and the Religious temple by paying some costs to the tourists agents. The Buses are also available all time to reach the city and is connected by all major cities near-by and far away from the state.
Although the routes of train travelling is bit difficult here, so to reach Badrinath you have to take a train which drops you little far before the Badrinath. The Central railway Station of Rishikesh(RKSH) is the nearest one to reach Badrinath if you are travelling through train, the Rishikesh is about 138 Km’s away from Badrinath and the second one is Ramnagar(RMR)which is about 154 Km’s away from Badrinath. It is clear by reading that there is no direct train available to reach Badrinath from any of the major city of India.
The next comes the most expensive means of the transport but is time saving i.e. Airways, however the city does not have any Airport to avail the facilities to the passengers but the nearest airport from Badrinath is Dehra Dun Airport(DED) which is about 146 KM's away and the other airport is situated in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh which is the Bhuntar Airport(KUU) which is located about 260 Km's away from the Badrinath.
The public transport facility provided by Government of Auto-Rikhsaw and Taxi's are also available in the whole city and especially from the Railway stations and bus stops which at an affordable rates could drop you to the Badrinath Temple.
Coming to Our Last Topic of Staying In The City
If you have to planned for a long trip or wants to stay in the city, there are a lot of options available for the people. The first is the IRCTC Retiring Rooms which is made available by the Railway department at a very cheap rate charging it for every 12 hours and later-on comes all the other means like hotel, lodges and guest Houses. However if you prefer to take the IRCTC room, you need to travel back to Rishikesh as the facility is not available in Badrinath. The lodges, guests house and other means of staying are also a bit far away from the temple of Badrinath as the temple is located at a higher altitude.
Today the facilities are made available for all types of Resting Rooms to book it online from your home before starting your journey including the Railway’s Retiring Room.
Very near to the Badrinath, is the Indo-Chinese Border i.e. Tibet Border.
So according to convenience and Spiritual Beliefs, although the travelling and staying is bit difficult at near-by to the Temple of Badrinath still this is a place which should surely be visited once.
