ABOUT BADMINTON.

BADMINTON one of the fastest racket games, originated in INDIA centuries ago, then it was called Poone. In the 1870's, some officers stationed in INDIA introduced the game to their friends in ENGLAND. It was played on the estate of Duke of Beaufort. Since the estate was called BADMINTON, the came came to be known by this name, from where it quickly spread to AMERICA and elsewhere.

BENIFITS.

It is one of the quickest game of the world. It helps us physically; we can learn and practice this game to enjoy or to be fit, as most of us destroy our health by our daily life routine. This game helps to build up stamina in our body, which is helpful in many ways. We should be quick at our feet to be good in this game.

THINGS INVOLVED

Badminton is just like tennis in many ways. It is played with a racket which is used to strike the shuttle over the net that divides the court. The court size is smaller than the Tennis court. Badminton can be played both indoors and outdoors by two(singles) or four (doubles) people.

The court is rectangular in shape, with length of 13.4 meters and a width of 6.1 meters. The court is marked out in white or yellow lines. A center line divides the court equally between the right and left service courts. Other markings are:

-a- A short service line about 1.98 meters from the net.

-b- A long line for doubles, 5.94 meters from the net.

-c- A back gallery of .76 meters wide.

-d- A singles width line of 5.18 meters.

-e- Singles side line of .46 meters inside the doubles side line.

SERVICE.

The server holds the shuttle round the base and feathers, with the base pointing downwards. He either drops the throws the shuttle in the air (YOU CANNOT HIT THE SHUTTLE ABOVE THE SHOULDER IN SERVICING) and strikes it with the racket, always making an underhand service. He strikes the shuttle so that it reaches the receiver in the diagonally opposite court.

SCORING

A match consists of either seven or five games. You can only score points when you are serving. If the server wins a stroke he wins a point. If he loses a stroke, service passes to his opponent.

The doubles and singles games both consists of seven points. In the game of seven points the player who wins the seven points earlier than his opponent wins the game, and in a match of seven games the player who wins the seven games wins the match.

In the end I will say that do play this game if you havent yet, its good.

''I play this game and i'am not a poor player''. If you don't do anything in the morning, go to a stadium or any club and play it. Any way its your choice. I tried to tell you the important things about this game.

GOOD BYE Thanks for reading.
