Archanapuran Singh would be proud of her husband. Parmeet sethi, who has given a nice balanced film in his directorial debut. The story is about four friends, who are part timing for a conman & getting smuggled goods from Bangkok to India in cheap prices & selling here in double its cost. One day one of the friend;s father (Shahid kapoor) gets a heart attack & sees his mom selling her jewelry to pay the hospital bills. Then he decides to make it big wit the help of the same conman(Jameel Khan) by increasing the trips to bangkok. He gets one Idea from his shop of importing shoes without paying customs duty by sending only right ones to one are & left ones to one area which has zero value. Then two of them will not claim those goods at the godown & later during the auction of unclaimed items..they would buy the same in a nothing price & earn profits. The initial investment was provided by Pawan Malhotra (who plays Jazz mamu to Shahid). It works for them but suddenly one fine day Indian Govt..reduces.
The excise duty on branded imported goods from 120% to 20%. That was the end of their so called. Friends & Co..in India & they head to US to try their luck.The same formula but with gloves & the Last one with property. Both worked. But then differences started cropping up among friends & all were departed. Shahid goes to Jail for 6 months for cheating & comes back with repentance in his heart. Then His Jazz Mamu. Falls in trouble over his Garments which was having color defects. Once again an Innovative idea from Shahid.The Bleeding Madras...(A bit too much)..saves him & his company & to do that, shahid takes the help of his old friends by saying sorry for his mean behavior & everyone lives happily ever after.
Shahid has played...the mean edgy character to near perfection......Vir Das as Chandu & Meiyang Chang are Quite impressive....Anushka Sharma is good....after her flat performance in RNBDJ....She even carries the smooch scenes with Shahid & the Bikini act Quite well....Anupam Kher in his short role is substantial & Quite Touching.....Pawan Malhotra is medicore...Music is ok ok.....
Go for Shahid Kapoor..who looks like a man with a mission....The chemistry between the four friends is also worth watching...& for the Last Punch...called Bleeding Madras...which is a bit too much to digest but you will enjoy it..........
