My recent visit to Bademiyan left me with a sour taste in my mouth, and not just because of their overpriced food. After being a loyal customer for a whopping 18 years since my college days, I expected at least a modicum of decent service. But alas, it seems the quality has taken a nosedive over the years.
Let's talk about the elephant in the room: the rude and downright pathetic attitude of the waiter we encountered last night. We placed a simple order: 1 Paneer Bhurji, 3 Romali Rotis, and 3 Veg Rolls. According to the menu, this should have amounted to 1400 bucks. However, imagine our surprise when the total came out to a whopping 1800 bucks! Foolishly, we didn't double-check the bill before paying and hurriedly left. But something felt off, so we circled back to confront the owner about the extra 400 bucks.
The owner's reaction? Disappointing, to say the least. Instead of immediately rectifying the situation, he simply confronted the server, who nonchalantly confessed to randomly calculating the bill. Randomly? Are you kidding me? This is not some back-alley stall; it's supposed to be an iconic establishment! The lack of remorse or even basic empathy from both the waiter and the management was appalling.
Needless to say, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally. Bademiyan may have been iconic once upon a time, but now it's just another overpriced joint with subpar service. Save yourself the headache and dine elsewhere.
