Debut directorial of Nitya Mehra is about the truth of today’s generation who is running behind career and somewhere has cold-feet when it comes to settling down in their life. The storyline is tight and racy, keeps you engaged as it is the ugly truth of every individual living a career-first-me-second life.

Sidharth Malhotra(Jai Verma) is a mathematician professor(with abs, where do I find one?) who wants to soar his wings and do more career-wise. He is strapping lad who can play and multiply big numbers but is a complete doofus when it comes to figuring out his love life. Karina Kaif(Diya) just wannabe Mrs. Jai Verma, is an artist, high on life, doesn’t fear when it comes to trying new things. She is totally unlike her partner, who is a flight risk.

It is wedding time and still Jai isn’t sure that his career requires more attention or his love life. Who to pick? It is until the moment wedding bells are about to ring. And that is the moment when the movie runs forward into the future – time travel. He gets the gift of seeing his future. He jazzes around the momentous occasions like his honeymoon in Thailand, his wife’s delivery in London, and his post-retirement days.

There are scenes that can leave you peachy or even squeamish, especially the one with the baby’s on its way. The phase where he is old and looks dejected, and even Katrina Kaif doesn’t age well with fake grey wig. These are little amateurish moments, but what holds the love story is their fight to keep a balance between work and life.

This peek into tomorrow, will change his today?!

Talk about the sizzling chemistry the two divine actors crackle on the screen. They will keep you guessing. Sidharth Malhotra, a Karan Johar discovery, moulds into the character but doesn’t have the heft to pull off such substantial role. Katrina Kaif, with her washboard body, still stumbles around with dialogues but has aged with experience and is better than her previous movies. The supporting actors Ram Kapoor, Taaha Shah and Sayani Gupta make it bearable for a while.

What gets you rocking is the tap-your-feet soundtracks. Kala Chashma just makes you want to get up and get loose. Sau Aasmaan is made to dance on your lips even after leaving the theatre.

Nitya Mehra has picked up a story or rather a situation that we all are facing or going to face in our lives. It’s a problem that many modern day couples face and diatribe ‘you don’t have time for me any more’ and hits sooooo very close to home.

It is a family movie, watch with your partner, watch with your family, it will give you food for your thought, but for that it doesn’t require Baar Baar Dekho. This is a single time watch flick. But do watch.
