Before I start writing this review let me tell you all, that this is my first ever review on this site. Also, I like to tell you that I have had a bad experience with BSNL initially, but now, the whole package ROCKS !!!
First thing of DataOne which strikes you positive is the TRANSPARENCY of the service. You can be rest assured of a no-nonsense, no-cheating service from the BSNL, which incidently a Govt owned company !!
They promised me 256kbps broadband service & I actually GOT what they promised me of !! I have had experiences with other broadband service providers like Airtel & Sify, which was horrible to say the least. Airtel promised me 128kbps service but it never used to go beyond 50kbps, thats because they divide the connection on the basis of 1/4. which means 4 people will be sharing 128kbps, so they guarantee you only 32kbps at any point of the day. I was shocked to know this later. Even Sify does the same either with the 128kbps or 256 kbps connection.
BSNL DataOne rocks, simply because, you get what you were promised. At any point of the day, I get atleast 180kbps data speed rate. Download rate is also impressive. I normally get 25KBPS (=25x8 kbps) with normal servers & even more in case of high speed servers like rapidshare!!!
The plans & options given by BSNL are really great. At present I am in Home-500 plan where the data transfer limit is 1 GB. But I have the option of UNLIMITED DATA TRANSFER during off peak hours (2am - 8am) !!!!
Now, they have come out with a new plan of Home-900 which is even more impressive with UNLIMITED DATA TRANSFER for just 900 bucks per month!!!
Only con which I can think of as of now is their customer care service, which is pathetic. But you need not worry much, coz the internet service is very good most of the times
So, I rate the whole package 4.5/5. Just GO for it !!
