Broadband Internet. Review on BSNL Dataone Broadband Service

I saw reviews wanted on BSNL Broadband service so I will surely write.

I have read few reviews on this category and WTF?? you people dont know what to write.

You people write this internet service rocks, fantastic spped, superb connectivity, it sucks, fast download, bad customer care. yaar investing on stupid companies like BSNL is a big risk so write proper reviews.

See, I don't have BSNL Dataone. I went to Kolkatta to stay there for few months in my cousins place that was I think during April-June.

So before you subscribe to this connection you need to buy a Ethernet card. now dont asl why these morons ( BSNL) provide ADSL modem Huawei 800 /880 and it works only with Ethernet card. The buy these modems from foolish countries like China, which produce cheap( if you are a marketing student never use the word cheap it has double meaning..hehe) products.

Now if you have a win 98 you need some special file dont worry those idiots will provide. They give you a CD containing the software and you need to install it so that the dial up icon appears in the desktop. The phone number should be put 0..( I guess not sure)

If your user name is banerjee then the password provided to you is ban123...another example if its mehta then passowrd will surely be meh123.

In the username column u need to type mehta@dataone and then type the passwordd it should connect.

Go to https://dataone.in u can check your mail and also there is a link which will redirect to you to another site which will give details of your usage and also change the password.

So how is the speed???

It depends on what connection you take? if 256 kpbs then download speed will be 29-32 kBps if its 512 kpbs it will be 55-57kBps.

see, these morons provide only 1 GB. It is utter crap. If I want to download a movie it will be around 1.4 GB. So I found this amusing. My brother didnt allow me to download.

And one more things some stupid people might ask will browsing come under download the answer is YES. If you visit nonsesne sites like indiatimes.com or good site like rediff.com it accounts for download.

What if anyhing goes wrong??

If there is problem in your modem..for that matter any ADSL modem there is a reset button press it for 5 sec, it will be fine. If you are not able to connect there is a toll free number 1600 424 1600.. Plz do not call that number. Those stupid call centre guys dont know what broadband is. Ask your local telephone wala to come to your house to fix the problem.
