I searched for different wire based and wireless internet connection provider in Bangalore for around 2 years. Tried many options like WIFI from tata indicom and NIC from BSNL. tata indicom was very costly without much usage and NIC was very slow. When I was about to buy the NIC from BSNL the officer told me to try out the 3G connection in my area.
So I immediately tried that demo card after paying 2500 as security deposit. I found the browsing speed was almost equivalent to broadband speed. So immediately I bought a 3G Datacard and 3G Prepaid SIM card from BSNL 2 months back. I chosen 785 rupees plan which was available. everyday I am using it and I feel this is the most economical internet option available at this for PC/Laptop.
You can try a demo card and purchase it if you find it ok in your area. but I have not taken card and roamed and checked it at any time. just keeping it at home.
But as usual you got to be patient in case of any error it throws and retry the things. Otherwise you will messup the hardware. little patient will definitely help you in case if you face problems.
