Seems none can beat BSNL in providing poor service and at most problems to the customer. I applied for a new Landline (only landline) in Chennai greams road office. For clarifications I got their contact no. 2 days later I got a call mentioning my allocated no and 3 men came up for laying the connection. Since the Airtel line was already there, they spent only 5 mts and finished the job. Later the confusion started with a sms stating the "connection not feasible".


This sms came from BSNL and just like a anonymous letter (motta kadudasi). When I called up the contact no, none picked up; I visited the greams road office and shocked to see a DGM's retirement function happening from 4 pm to 6 pm. Seems this kind of senior ppl also enjoy this kind of shows during office hours. Why cant they hold the function from 6 pm to 8 pm or on a sunday; irresponsible bunch of staff; then, two people after seeing me lamenting guided me to the ellis road office. The AE informed me that the allocated no. Was a fancy no. (since I did not apply for it, they took it back; they said the system allocated this by mistake; this is a story thinking that the customer is a joker; the sms did not explain the problems or further guidance. Poor feedback to customers; AE accepted the problem from their side and promised corrective measure;


First of all there was none to respond my call; I kept calling 10 times at least; but, my observation is that these people are so irresponsible including that DGM. Why cant they have the internal functions after office hours or on Sundays; let the customer die or live we will celebrate - that's their attitude; let him have a peaceful retirement life and customer suffer.


Then the SMS - with no proper reasoning and guidance - BSNL is specialist in writing motta kadudasi; no proper coordination among the internal depts; no proper feedback; the pathetic thing is that I saw a ISO 9001 - 2000 certification in ellis road office; seems the certification has become a costly Tea that any one with huge amount of money can get this in a big t shop.


In between I visited the opposite office in greams road where I wanted to know about a wireless landline phone. There, people do not have the proper product knowledge; no pamphlets; Another comedy happened where my father's landline has been into trouble for over 3 months; the BSNL technician who came up for fixing the issue himself advised to take up private connection., These are the people managing the govt dept and providing service. Oh God please save the BSNL from these people;


Lets remember all these comedy show are happening amidst huge competition; BSNL network is already known for its poor performance in mobile services.
