Product BPL Frost free fridge 300 litres
Location: Doha, Qatar
The timer of my refrigerator stopped working and only
after three days of complaint, did someone come. In
the meantime, I had to throw out about QR 250 worth of
spoiled food. This guy came and said that he will
adjust the timer temporarily, but couldn't guarantee
how much further the fridge would cool. Since it was
already three days of problem in the sweltering Doha
summer, we agreed. After two days, another
repairperson came and said that since it has only been
temprarily fixed, they would need to take it to their
service depot. So thinking that a permament solution
is best, we allowed them to take the refrigerator
(another QR 100 worth of food had to be disposed).
They said they would bring it back after two days, but
after repeated followup after three days. They finally
delivered on the fourth day. They said they had
changed the timer. We thought our problems were over
and they gave a bill of QR 150. We decided to pay and
consequently restocked the fridge.
After two days, the cooling started tapering off and
the food inside started to smell. We once again
disposed about QR 200 worth of food and enquired with
the service guys. They said they had repaired the
timer with a non-standard make as they did not have
stock of the regular timers. We were aghast. they had
charged us regular fees, given us so much suffering in
this heat and spoiled so much food and now we find
they didn't even stock spare parts!!. What kind of a
service depot is these fellows? Are they some kind of
cruel joke to trap unwary customers who make the
mistake of buying BPL Sanyo products? We tried to
contact their local MD but we were told by his
secreatry that he was too busy to talk to us (or maybe
his secretaary was lying).
We will never make the same mistake again of buying
BPL again. I would never recommend BPL to anyone. Be
wary of them!!!
