BHIM app was launched by government on India in December 2016 with a purpose of digitisation of money exchange.
The BHIM app is an initiative of government of India developed by National Payment Corporation of India based on unified payment interface.
This is my detailed review of using this app for a couple of months. This app proves beneficial in day to day work, the benefits of this app are as follows
BENIFITS:
It allows to send or receive money to or from upi address by scanning the QR code.
Unlike other app like paytm, Mobikwik, free charge, it does not hold any amount with itself the BHIM is just a transfer mechanism and transfer amount from one account to another.
Transfers on BHIM app are instant and can be done 24* 7 and even on weekends and holidays.
It allows user to check balance in their account and also to choose which account one want to use for transaction.
The new feature of this app also allows the user to send money to anyone from their contact list.
TRANSACTION CHARGES:
As of now their are no charges on transaction upto a limit of rupees 1 lakh which I feel is plus point of this app compared to other apps which charge for same.
TRANSACTION LIMIT:
The transaction limit is same as the transaction limit of debit card of the account used. So if the transaction limit of card is 20000 so the transaction limit of BHIM app will also be 20000.
LANGUAGE SUPPORT:
Currently it supports 12 languages including English but the government claims that in near future it will support all 22 languages of India.
APP USER INTERFACE:
the app user interface is very simple and all details are available easily so than any one with basic knowledge about smartphone can also use this app.
APP LOADING TIME:
The app loads very fast there are no lags in this app, given that a good Internet connection is used.
These were benefits of this app now let's talk about few negatives of this app
The app only offer transfer of money but other apps like paytm etc enable one to book tickets, pay bills, recharge, so the offerings of this app are quite limited.
So my overall experience with this app is quite good and I would recommend every to take part in this initiative launched by government of India.
