B U Bhandari is a Tata Motors and(with their tie-up) FIAT Dealer and Service Station. I had given my car on 23 September 2008 after getting an appointment(confirmed by SMS) on 22 Sep 08. When I took my car to the'Car Care Center' I was told that it would take 3 days for what was basically checks of some systems.
I said that I needed the car earlier and the Service Adviser agreed to give me the car the next day. I called up the next day at 2 PM to confirm whether the car would be ready and - to my surprise - I was told that my car had not even been looked at yet. I asked for my car back without doing anything and the Service Adviser promised to get it ready for me at 5 PM. I checked again at 4 PM and this was confirmed to me again.
At 5 when I reached the workshop I received a call saying that my alternator required replacement since the battery light was on(The battery light has been on for the last 2 yrs including when they serviced my car last). I asked for the car back and it was returned to me in a filthy state with mud crusted over and no work done and I was charged Rs 337 for renewal of brakes.
Last year B U Bhandari had kept my car for 15 dayson three different occasions. and charged my Rs 7500 for repairing the AC and I finally had to get it repaired from outside. On one occasion they gave me my car after a servicing with an air lock!
