Hello, I have recently opened an account in Axis Bank. I had to open my salary account to receive my salary. I think my company may some hidden commission that's why they force to open account in Axis Bank. They told me fill up the form and they gave the passbook and Debit card on the spot and told me that the account would be activated with in a week. I requested the person to open my account at the earliest as my salary was stuck due not have a Axis Bank account. Today is the 10th day, but my account still has not been activated. The person orally confirmed me that the account home branch would be at Golpark, Kolkata. After accepting the cheque book I got surprised as the cheque book having the IFSC code of Andul brach, Howrah that is very far away from my home as well as from my office. I did not get any better solution. I visited the nearest branch they suggest me to give a written application they would look into the matter but if I change my branch I shall have to update the account info agaib at my company and PF.
Axis bank customers have the facility of mobile banking, net banking, apps but it charges for this facilities. The ATM service is quite good as it has many ATM all over India but Axis Bank does rarely offer cashback campaign on ATM/DEBIT CARD for online buyers. it mostly promotes the credit card offer but others leading private as well as public sector banks promotes many cashback program for online buyers.
I know this is one of the leading private bank in India but this bank is good for rich people who want to keep a large amount of money in the bank. But for poor or middle class people, I would never recommend this. If you have a savings account then you have to maintain minimum balance of 10k, which may not be possible for poor or middle class people. Axis bank also highly charges of each facilities as compare to any public sector banks.
