I tried withdrawing money from the ATM yesterday night at 11 PM and then early AM at 12:30 again.
The second transaction, thought in a new calendar day, did not go through saying daily withdrawal limit reached.
The transactions were on two different calendar days,
When I called customer service, they say that their bank treats anything after 9:30 PM as a new day. The rest of the world follows the normal calendar but I did not realize that Axis bank can follow its own calendar and time rules. Especially in the ATM cash crunch going on, the customer service rep telling me that that is their rules, and I have no choice is horrible service. If their bank considers after 9:30 as a new day, then the transaction should also show on the statement as a new day right?
Most importantly, when RBI has laid the rule down that daily limit is 2500, and the government considers any day to being at 12:00 AM and end at 24:00 PM, who the hell is Axis to decide a new beginning and end to a day?
I used HDFC and Citi and even SBI cards, and they all follow normal calendar and times unlike this horrible bank.
Axis was the first bank to switch off ACs in their ATMs and get rid of receipts as well. They may think it is progressive, but it makes them look real cheap to their customers.Especially when even desi banks offer better service,
