Poor customer care of Axis bank

I am surprised to know how Axis bank claims that "We are humbled to be adjudged as the No.1 Promising Banking Brand of 2015 by ET Best Brands." Does ET best take in to account the customer care performance of the bank to give a award as best ET brand.


I feel such prizes are awarded without taking in to account the overall performance of the organization. My experience with Axis bank has been pathetic twice at least(that I would like to mention)




  1. Recently I visited Axis bank Chinchwad branch and tried to pay my credit card dues through cheque payment and deposited the cheque in care of a responsible staff of bank.




After a week of deposit a message came to my mobile that my payment towards credit card is overdue.


I rushed to the bank and asked the concerned person who surprisingly told me to go to another counter where the lady who supposed to attend to me did not show interest and asked several questions eg cheque number, date of deposit and I tried to supply these info as far as practicable and even called in her presence the axis bank credit card customer care person and one Ms Jayalakshmi from customer care answered and I asked her why my cheque payment that I made has not been credited to my account.


Now the lady of bank and Ms Jayalakshmi tried to converse(in muted voice as if to coverup their fault) and later as I was waiting over 15 min told Ms Jayalakshmi to lodge my complaint and give me complaint number(Despite several request) she did not do so and tried to buy time( I am a Doctor by profession and had important work back in my hospital so could not stand the utter nonsense by these banking staffs) so I left the scene without getting my problem properly attended.


I had faced another situation earlier also and as I was to travel to Sweden Axis bank manager told me that they give prepaid international Axis bank VISA debitcard(in all currencies atleast six) that can be used in any places of our choice. I applied for same and did necessary procedure and card was issued but to my surprise in Sweden when ever I tried to use card for payment  the request was denied and I felt disappointed and on return I inquired in bank but was told that unfortunately my card was not properly authenticated this was surprising(there was faulty procedure while issuing the card) and though I had emailed to Customer care of Axis bank there was no reply from the bank or customer care division.


This shows how the bank performs and why the bank did not deserve the award(as mentioned).
