I had an account with them for years. I realized well in time that they were going on the lines of ICICI bank to increaes their charges. When I visited my home town last time I gave them a request to close my account. The branch manager trying to build relations and trying show that extra special service told me that he will be visiting me personally in the evening.
That evening never came and I didn't care about my account after having given teh application. These people never closed my account. Instead they piled up charges on me. 750 for non maintenance of Average Quarterly Balance. 400 for every transaction that was done outside the home branch.
Reasons not to bank with them:
- Charges are highest under any category. (Wake up if you didn't know this.) My company has an account with Axis Bank. Even though all of us have salary accounts some or the other charges have been imposed on all of us. They have charges right almost everything. And so many exclusive conditions. You should hire a lawyer to understand all their terms if you want to bank with them.
Just one example of complex charges conditions
e.g. if you don't maintain AQB then they will charge you for more than 3 transactions outside your home branch. Even ATM withdrawal.
No clarity on information. They never send charges updates. Leaving a comment like check our website is so lame. ICICI though infamous once for its charges is very good at informing about revisions.
Their customer support is pathetic. It just works upto 5 p.m. You only get time after 5 pm to call them. That too if you are able to talk to a person they won't know much about what you want to know.
Even salary accounts come with lots of riders.
All in all I have lost around 2000 Rs in terms of 'charges' to them. I think they love to lose customers.
Please avoid this bank at any cost.
