This is going to be one of the most difficult reviews I have written on this site and it's not because the movie left me speechless but because this is really a confusing movie. So bear with me my friends as I try and make some sense out of this mayhem.

Guru Gulab khatri (Akshay Kumar) is married to Preeti (Preeti Jhingiani). The marriage is a adjustment since Preeti got married to Guru to keep her underworld don father happy. She also has a brother Vikrant (Rahul Dev). After the death of the don, the three realise that there are Rs. 1000 crores of diamonds locked up in a bank in New York that are to be distributed equally among them. In case any one dies the parties alive get the diamonds. So Vikrant and Guru try and bump each other off. Preeti, of course only wants her independence from Guru. Vikrant kills the home minister and puts the blame on Guru who flees to America. He moves in as a neighbour to Anmol (Aftab Shivdasni), a dentist married to Mona (Amrita Arora). Anmol and his dad-in-law Manilal (Paresh Rawal) are both hen-packed husbands who are made to do all the house-work and are bossed around by their money hungry wives. Vikrant has meanwhile announced a Rs. 2 crore award for anyone giving any information about Guru and soon Anmol and Manilal are despatched to India to give Vikrant the information about Guru. Vikrant has given the contract to kill Guru to Anna (Sunil Shetty) and his side kick Chota Chatri (Johnny Lever). Anmol, meanwhile meets Preeti and both fall in love with each other before VIkrant despatches Anmol , Anna , Manilal and Chota Chatri to America to keep an eye on Guru. However, Anna is actually with Guru since Guru has given a bigger amount of money to Anna to bump off Vikrant!. Confusing is'nt it? Wait there's more confusion coming!.Anna and Mona fall in love with each other and Guru falls in love with Anmol's secretary Tina (Aarti Chabria). In case you are wondering how the married couples are conveniently romancing other people, well don't worry. The director knows that a married Indian woman committing adultery is just not done in Indian cinema so he takes pains to explain to us that all the marriages are failed ones and the women virgins! So finally Vikrant comes to America to supervise the killing of Guru by Anna before he gets the diamonds. But Guru and Anna are to-gether so there is a big confusion and a long drawn out climax until Vikrant is bumped off and everyone gets their diamonds and women.

Paresh Rawal as Manilal keeps the movie to-gether and is excellent as the name forgetting Gujrati guy. The first half is extremely pacy and keeps you going but the movie just falls apart in the second half. Too many songs and too many action sequences slow down the movie. Sure the action sequences are well made but are more of an amalgamation of the sequences from The Matrix and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. The climax is too long and too violent. Despite Paresh Rawal's excellent comedy the movie drags and the last 60 minutes were spent literally waiting for the movie to get over!

Akshay Kumar as Guru does a great job with the action sequences and it's difficult to imagine any other actor playing that role. He also looks pretty good and his dressing sense has improved by leaps and bounds ever since he got married to the Sexy Twinkle Khanna.

Aftab Shivdasni as Anmol is as incometant as he is in all his films. When will he lose weight?

Sunil Shetty as Anna is just about okay. He is there purely for some action and he does it efficiently.

Rahul Dev as Vikrant does a good job as menacing underworld don. He looks smart and fights well. A actor with a bright future indeed.

Johnny Lever as Chota Chatri keeps good company to Paresh Rawal and the two have excellent tuning in the comic sequences.

Preeti Jhingiani as Preeti looks pretty as usual but has put on some weight and needless to say needs to shed it immediately.

Amrita Arora as Mona needs to understand that she is acting in a film and not hosting a show on MTv as a VJ.

Aarti Chabria as Tina is the pick of the 3 women. She has the shortest role among the three but is the most enthusiastic and comes out trumps with her acting. She does a good job acting and looks the best among the three too. Extremely glamourous and sexy Aarti is the one lady to watch out for in films.

Vikram Bhatt has directed the movie and he could have toned down on the action sequences. Sure this is a action movie but do you have to try so hard to show the action sequences? And by the way Mr. Bhatt, did you not have a editor? And why so many songs? Surely Bhatt can do better then this.

The good thing about this movie is that it doesn't attempt to show anything different. The director is very clear that he is here to make a movie which has comedy and action in liberal doses and tries to use the two to entertain us. Vikram Bhatt almost succeeded with this movie but only if he had been more liberal with the editor's scissors and had exercised more control over his lyric's writter and music directors.
