I went in for aviva as I was looking to insure myself and it offered good returns under their ULIP plans. However I was in for a rude shock. The agent sold a particular policy I liked to me. I even had to undergo a medical exam and give blood samples, only to be told later that this policy has been withdrawn several months back! Nevertheless, I decided to take an alternate plan. In the meanwhile, I wanted to go in for a monthly payment instead of yearly payment.
Aviva took more than a month to return my money to me which I had already paid to them. In the meanwhile their agent and manager in Delhi refused to attend my calls. After I finally got the policy documents, I ran into another problem. They did not enable my EFT mechanism for transferring money from my account to aviva every month. I am in the strange position where I want to give them money but they don't take it from me!
Every month, for the past three months, they withdraw money from my account, but it is credited back to my account by them on the same day! The bank fines me 200 rupees for this! Customer care is non-existent. Nobody picks up the phone at their customer care number.
There is a message which says that if I leave my name and number, they will call me back but that has never happened. If you want a peaceful life, don't do business with them.
