A Lighter Shade of Pale

Aveda produces the most wonderful hair and beauty salon products with the added bonus that none of their ingredients are of the petro-chemical variety and are all entirely natural plant and organic based. This means all their products are incredibly gentle on the skin and scalp, and reactions and allergies are rare. Plus you are getting the best type of nourishing ingredients for your skin and your hair, as nature intended.

Their camomile shampoo is intended for those of us with lighter shades of hair or highlights. It is a very pale yellow in colour and smells simply delightful (with a hint of coconut), and a little of this goes a very long way. It lathers up beautifully making it very economical to use and removes build ops of grease, hairspray, gel etc very effectively.

Not only does it give your hair a thorough cleaning, but also it nourishes it and adds moisture as well as adding a slight lightening effect. Blondes will find their hair colour to be more vibrant and alive, jaded highlights will have a new lease of life and fair hair will benefit too by being brighter and more vibrant. It basically adds a little extra colour without changing the look or feel of your hair, but bringing out and emphasising the best of your own natural highlights and lowlights.

It also produces wonderful shine and your hair will feel softer and silkier, often without the need to apply a conditioner afterwards. The active natural ingredients in this product include camomile, calendula, aloe, almond, cherry bark and coconut, all combine beautifully to give a wonderful but light fruity fragrance to your hair.

Some would say that Aveda products are expensive, but I disagree. If you buy the one litre pump size, it will last for months and months and as you need use just a little each time you shampoo, it works out to be very economical indeed. They also offer a smaller sized bottle too. Prices vary but as an average, expect to pay somewhere around £7.00 for 250ml and £20.00 for the one litre size here in the UK.

You’ll find Aveda products in top salons around the country, or you can purchase them via QVC’s UK and USA shopping channels (expect to find them sold out more often than not, Aveda products are very popular here!) or from various sites on the web.

Aveda have their own website too which gives information on their company background plus a comprehensive list of all the products they offer and their ‘Aromaology’ background and philosophy. Check them out at https://aveda.com.

All in all, I really would recommend this shampoo for those of you with lighter shades of hair wanting to add some brightness and vitality. The natural ingredients care for your hair whilst giving it a gentle but effective clean and you may even be able to throw away your conditioner altogether!
