You drive the car, don't let the car drive you.

These tips are going to be my personal opinion and you should let them influence you only if you want them to. In the end, however, you make a decision after driving both.

So manual or automatic?

This is a never ending debate and you will find pros and cons of both the variants of cars and in the end it all comes down to personal preferences.

Pros of a Manual.

You get to drive how you want. You want it to go fast, it will go as fast as you want it to. you want it to go slow, you can make the car do that, too. You think the acceleration is not enough? One downshift and Voila! Make that quick over-take, those revs at the signal for a friendly taunt, those wheel-spins, those drifts in open grounds and much more. It's an experience. Learn how to drive a manual and it's a piece of cake to "drive" an automatic but the other way around, definitely doesn't hold good.

Cons of a Manual.

Two words, traffic and inclination, First-gear slow-moving traffic is maddening. The left leg is going to kill you at the end of it. It's gonna go numb and make you want to cut it off. It's gonna get you exhausted. You'll be tired at the end of every journey especially if you drive long distances on a regular basis.

And hills, they're not the easiest places to take your car to especially if you're a learner, It's gonna stop a million times and it's only going to leave you more annoyed than the passengers in your car who'll finally give up on you and walk up the hill.(Okay, they won't do that.:P) Buh it's a pain, nonetheless.

And another area where automatics do better, fuel efficiency. Automatics obviously consume lesser fewer due to all the gearshifts you don't have to make, all the unnecessary acceleration uphill and all the burnouts you're going to miss out on.:P

Personally, I would choose a manual over an automatic. any day. I would rather whine in 20 minutes of traffic and drive the rest of the way like I own the streets than let the car drive me(nuts) the whole way because an automatic feels that mechanical. According to me, an automatic is to a manual what an a scooter is to a bike. Yeah, it gets the job done. Buh where's the fun in that?
