Normally when people talk of travel Australia is seldom on the list as it is all ''WEST'' that attracts the attention..
It was a sheer chance that one Sister Nirmala of Servite Convent talked to us and since she is retired from her service of being Professor of Physics in a college in Tuticorin and joined this group near Perth, we felt like meeting her...and so we took a quick decision to travel all the way to Australia..
Though normally I do not like to travel long hours of flying, the happiness of meeting sister Nirmala made me forget all these problems...
and believe me any one who like travelling should experience ''Australia''
The people seem to be not bothered about your origin, the way you speak english, or to which ''class'' you belong...
also it was noticable that everywhere, there was no distinction between either a foreigner and local...every once is same...
it was also noticable that virtually, we could see no fights at any point...during the 15 days of our stay in that country...either in village or in city..
I also wonder, how come we indians who travel a lot do not see the good part of all these things when we visit these countries and not talk about these to our friends and relatives in our own country and try our bit to contribute for a good change that is very badly needed here?
Be it Singapore or Hongkong or now Australia...
what is missing is the ''proactive thinking'' in our mindset...we are all selfish...and we are all ''fudalistic '' though we always talk of very old civilisation, cultural heritage etc..
we may be good as individuals...but we are not united any time....while in singapore, hongkong , australia etc, the society gets the prominence, in our country the individual gets the prominence...we believe that if each individual is happy then the society will be happy...but that never happens ...onthe other hand if society develops and individuals sacrifice for society, then for sure, the society will be happy and naturally as part of the society the individual too will be happy..
i think this is a lesson we need to learn and discuss about..
