Audio Technica is considered as one of the biggest brand name among music enthusiastics. They have been known for excellent sound quality and fair price. Ath-M50x is one of the high end models on M series which is very popular and is priced around 10k. These are over the ear studio headsets. Actually I don't know why this model created these much waves in the market. Because, in my opinion these are just average devices.
There is nothing to call them in the premiere category except the price range. The have decent looks and sound quality is also good. I said just good, not great. It have decent sound staging and looking durable also.
But why these much price? That's my question. You can get much better studio quality headsets from MEE audio JBl for a much lesser price. Audio technical is just over priced and overrated.
