There are certain concepts of life which age teaches and certain concepts which you yourself learn...yet and yet sometimes the basic of the basic concept remains hidden from us in the glamour of ''heavy ones''. This book explores these concepts ...simply put this book explains the joy of living.
The hero of this book..john galt is a man who stops the world who does a brain drain. The difference being he only removes them from the world scene. The second handers of the world that is the people for whom the joy is which is derived from every other person except themselves is what he calls looters and very rightly so.
It will be futile for me to tell the story of the book for the book is not like a story. The book is an explanationb of a principle and the story is just an element being used to explain that principle. To be put simply the concept is...that the first and foremost duty of a man is towards his own rational well being towards his own joy. That concept like brotherhood and altrusim and social equality can come only when u have the concept of ''i''..when u understand what that ''i'' means and when u live that ''i'' as it is supposed to be. That as long as I do not understand my own self my own philosphy of life and my own joy how can I give joy outside...that equality only comes when people are at same level but unless u know what ur level is u cannot make them at par.
What then is the joy of living....simply your WORK your creative capacity. That thing that makes u human and a savage a brute. That thing which makes u think and create and device. Freedom it says freedom to work .non subordination it says. Non subordination of the individual to the collective. Integrity it says to stick to the fight when u r the hardest hit cos u and only u know that, that is the only way in which u live, can live and will live.
The complete significance of the novel is understood only by few for very few have the guts to read through and very very few can understand it.
This book calls out to the man within, it gives a heroic perception of one man who stopped the wrld for he could not see it being destroyed and he being stopped.this novel is the story of one man who stood in acrowd of 6000 and declared that he would stop the motor of the world and he did.
Today very very few people and even lesser young men live on principles but as I siad earlier the real joy of living lies in your work in the way u live in what u do and how do u rather than the reward u get from work. And when u live that way you do not compromise you live like a man with held high.
This is a must read novel for those who are done with kids stuff who take life seriously enough to seek joy off it....
