Made the biggest mistake of buying Asus Zenfone 5, that too the day it was launched. Order no OD40710081568.


The phone has heating issues like you have never seen. To give a better idea, it is impossible to hold the phone in your hand. on excess heating, the phone gets switched off and does not start for 1-2 hours.


Moreover the screen got shattered because of overheating. attached image of the same. Impossible as it may seem, it happened and asus service centre readily gave a replacement for screen and PCB, to cover their face.


But it was only the beginning. Sim card slot got damaged after 1 week of replacing screen and got the same repaired to only to find the Mic damaged.


The release of android kitkat was a major disaster which had lot many bugs resulting in keyboard not working, apps dysfunctional etc.


All this costed me 8 visits to service centre, which looks more like a small shop with amateur people(IT Solutions, Asus service centre, Mahagiri koliwada, Thane)


Finally Asus agreed for a replacement and asked me to handover my product with accessories and entire box and provided me a RMA CB certificate(the asus person itself did not know what it stands for).


But it was only the beginning as both Asus and flipkart took roles in asking me to go to the other party and I have no idea if I will receive the refund in this life time. Its already been 2 weeks that I received the certificate and I have no idea who will give me the refund as both parties are just saying that it is not their responsibility.


Major point to mention is Flipkart service levels are pathetic. Face a problem and you will see the real picture of their service. after 50 mails and over 15-20 hours consisting of 12-15  calls over one issue, I have learnt a lot. Service centre people lie to your faces.


They make all kinds of excuses saying that they have not received mails to not finding call records to everything imaginable and beyond. They are least responsible unless the customer escalates the call to highest possible extent where their reputation might get affected.


Such products seem attractive, but it becomes a big pain in the a* at the end, where you are made to cry, shout, beg, depending on your personality at the end for your hard earned money.


But then they will always say, the world is not fair at the end.
