Asus is a great brand in the computer industry and looks like it is here to stay by entering in to the smartphones market. Everything about this phone is just awesome, but there are a few things that I would like to list out about this phone.

  1. Awesome bulid quality and looks premium and good in hand.

  2. ASUS Zenfone 5, uses Zen UI which is highly customisable yet the phone doesn't show even a microsecond of a lag. Its buttery smooth thanks to the Dual Core Intel Atom Processor with Hyper-Threading which means it mimicks a Quad Core Processor. I play a lot of 720p & 1080p Movies, TV Shows, Music Videos and I must say that it gives an effortless playback. 2GB ram makes sure you never run out of memory. So multi-tasking is a blessing. Blazing fast performance, flawless game play, No lags while playing high end games.

  3. Despite having just a 720p HD screen and a pixel density of just 294 ppi, the IPS LCD, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 produces, crisp and clear images. The display is sharp enough indoors but it could have been a little more brighter in sunlight. Its decent at full brightness outdoors, but it doesn't impress me that much. Frankly speaking, every phone struggles to give sunlight legibility.

  4. Don't be fooled by the 8MP Front Snapper as it has a pretty snappy performance. ASUS has created a great camera app which has a lot of modes in it like Selfie mode, Beautification, Depth of Field etc. The pictures are sharp and the flash works well in sync with the shutter. So its really impressive to get such a great camera at 10k. However, night shots may get a little grainy. Though they can be fixed with firmware updates.

  5. 16 GB internal storage is far more better than the 8 GB varient as the available space on the 8 GB varient is around 4 GB and on 16 GB varient it is around 12 GB. Installing just one high end game like Asphalt 8 eats up a good 1.3 GB. Imagine what will be left on a 4 GB varient when you install a couple of more high end games. Ofcourse there is an option to expand the storage with an SD card, but you cannot install the apps on the SD card and can only move them and by doing so, the read/write of data from the SD card will cause lags in games.

Cons:

  1. The 2110 mAh battery is too low for a device of this kind. Can't really sustain for one complete day 100% charged even with moderate usage.

  2. The touch sensitive capacitive buttons at the bottom of the screen do not illuminate making it too difficult to use the phone in the dark.

Yes, just two cons till now which I have encountered. Apart from these two issues, the phone is much much better when compared to many other phones in the market at this price range. I have checked the specs and reviews of almost all the phones in this price bracket and this phone ha
