Hello Dear Friends,
Myself Chaitali and today I am going to share my personal experience regarding the book called " ASTROPHYSICS FOR PEOPLE IN A HURRY " BY NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON which I bot around around one year ago from the Kolkata book fair. And it costs 1, 280 rupees.
First things first, The looks of the book is not very beautiful, a simple book cover with less pictures. only the name of the author and the name of the book written in capital bold. The cover paper quality is not very hi fi, simple cover, no glossy paper or high definition picture is there. So by the looks this book is average and will fail to increase its buyer or readers from a glance. The size of the book is not so big, only 490 pages it is, So for a Astrophysics book this size is very small and from the fist look people will understand that this book is not sufficient for a detailed knowledge.
The main features of the book concentrate around the matter physics and astrology . They detailed description of Space and astronomical matter is not present, only few chapter of matter physics and the research theory is their in the book. No practical examples or physics related mathematical experiment is present. For first few chapter the book good for readers, but when the author shift towards the auto matter physics the in dept Anasultanlysis and description is missing, The main topics like ASTRONOMICAL ELEMENTS, PHYSICAL BONDING OF MATTERS, SPACE AND THE ZERO GRAVITY MATTERS, DARK MATTER, RELATIONAL PHYSICS IN ASTRONOMICAL SURVEY is not present, Which makes difficult for the beginners to understand the subject.
The description are very small without any example, So you cannot understand the practical knowledge, For practical purpose the book does not have the RELATIONAL THEORY, CALCULUS OF PHYSICS, ZERO GRAVITY THEORY, PHYSICS THEOREMS and other practical chapters. So you cant understand the physical relationship of astronomy. The galaxy descriptions are not present so we don't get an idea about the space and the main part, the description of our galaxy the MILKY WAY is not present. So the basic start is wrong as we cant understand our presence in space. So this book is not at all helpful for beginners and one will not be able to understand the astrophysical matter by reading this book.
The price is very high compare to the amount of details this book has, The Author Has kept all the information In different part of the book so you need to buy other part in order to know different chapters. Description of the sun and the soler system is not present so the relative gravity and the molecule astrophysics is not present in this book, While going through the physical arithmetic and logical examples we will find missing chapters like SPEED, LIGHT YEAR EFFECT, CHEMICAL PHYSICS, DARK THEORY and other important mathematical examples in different chapters.
So this book fails to communicate with its ready, which according to the writer this book is for starter or for the beginner but the informations are very less, It cannot make you understand the astrophysics quickly as the name suggests. So you should try other author books like EARTH AND PHYSICS, SUN ASTRILOGY, PHICS OF ASTRONOMY etc. after reading this book I would suggest you to they other books because this I wll not make a good description regarding the astrophysics. So I will give one out of ten to this book. The story of the astronomy is very short which fails the readers to understand the history of the universe and make more complex for us to understand, So don't buy and read this book.
