Scent of a Man. Review on Aspen

This is one of the best, a man can get. I belong to Bombay, where one can get international brands without much blood and sweat. One of my old friends had suggested Aspen when I was an avid user of the Lomani brand of fragrances for men. I am a fragrance buff and even use them, when I am at home, after a shower and shave.

When I laid my hands on the bottle of Aspen, I felt it was created for me. The golden cap looks like a crown on a King. The dark emerald green bottle with a golden leaf printed on it looked more of a prized Egyptian treasure than an American razzmatazz. The curves of the bottle itself make a masculine statement. Not a hint of effeminacy in the looks. One can say a horse, a gun and an Aspen along with a swagger in the walk. I don't have a girlfriend but I am sure this will be a rage with woman because as my friend's girlfriend says, a woman would want to 'feel' a man in Aspen. Rest is left to the imagination.

Coming right from the horse's mouth, you can analyze its whiff. When you wear Aspen and take a deep breath, you get whisked off to the icicle-covered spruce trees of the mountains of Maroon Bells overlooking the Maroon lake of Aspen, with the icy and woody cool scent spreading through your lungs. The feeling is magnificent. I walked the same corridors, same streets, worked in the same office space, traveled the same elevator, with and without wearing Aspen and the difference was remarkable. It sure turned not only heads but also the senses :). In a lift, the scent is simply awesome and I could feel eyes probing into my back trying to smell with their vision.

Now, I am in Delhi where I hunted for this marvel at all the joints, I could think of. I was dejected when I did not find it. It was like I had lost the Midas touch. This was the transit period wherein, I shifted to make-do brands like Glacier (not bad though) and Blue from Coty's arsenal. One fine day I was taking a walk at Connaught Place when I stumbled upon 'Options'. It is a corner L-shaped fragrance shop which I believe specializes only in fragrances. I stepped in with a bored look and hands in my pockets. I had the 'just looking around' expression written all over me. However, one helpful salesman interrupted my glance with a smile. He showed me a number of brands like, playboy, jovans black musk, Cool Water, etc.

Most of them, I was familiar with but not my choice of fragrances. In an attempt to disappoint him and provide a wonderful excuse to back out, I asked him if they sold Aspen. He thought for some time and finally probed his adventurous hands behind some cans and bottles and out came the nostalgic green box. He was taken aback when I almost snatched it out of his hands fearing if someone else robs me off it. I opened the box and slid the green bottle into my hands.

I felt the cool feel of the glass bottle reach every sensor in my body and I knew, I had found it. So whoever is looking for it. Check out options. If you live far off then call them and check with them if they have a spare because I stripped them of their last pack. So they may have to order for more. But then there are ought to be more where one came from. Adieu.
