Shahrukh khan, santosh sivan, kareena kapoor and the man they said history will remember - Asoka - seems to me to be an unbeatable combination but they all decieve to falter.
love, songs, betrayal form the subplots of this movie and hey there is even a song that reminds one of Moulin Rouge with Rajlaxmi Khanvilkar doing her best to do an desi imitation of the same
the camera work is brilliant to say the least
the performances are commendable
but what asoka lacks is speed and the ability to keep viewers guessing the plot slackens its pace at the most crucial time
music is not worth writing about
shahrukh is absolutely marvellous so is kareena
all in all a movie that could have become the Gladiator of indian cinema just about manages to save it face due to its lead characters and the director
