I use internet at home very rarely, my plan is wow199. Recently I changed my wired modem by returning it at the Asianet office at East Fort in Trivandrum, Kerala for installing a wireless modem at home. When I inquired at customer care, they told me that it costs me Rs1680. I agreed and I paid this amount upfront to buy the modem. Here is my experience with asianet:
1)The customer care is very poor .You may have to make several attempts to get connected to them.
2)My PC is running on Windows7. I am never able to continuously browse more than 30 minutes as connection is lost frequently. They always say that my PC has problem which they could not point out.
3)When I logged my complaint, an SMS is received which says that the complaint is registered. The next day you will get another SMS saying that my complaint is resolved; but of no use. This is a usual gimmick to foolish customer. The issue may still be there.
4)Now comes the best part! I receive my first bill after changing the modem. The bill is very weird.
The bill says that my modem is on lease!! But where is that amount I paid upfront? I called up the CC, the fellow says that it was the lease amount that the Rs.1680 that I paid. But at the time of buying the new modem, asianet will never say that the it is on lease because no body will pay such a lease amount. You have several other options like USB data cards for other ISPs at a better price. In my experience, you cannot find an ISP worse than Asianet.
