Shifting from a Apartment in Kadubishanahalli to another in Haralur Road - dated 3rd May'2014 - 9 KM distance. I took the service of Ascent packers(https://ascentpacker.com/, mobile: 9845550000) though their quote was on higher side of~ 9K.
They brought container type vehicle on the day of shifting - as promised. The folks who came were supposed to be the employees of the company.
The staff did good work while packing all the items and re-arranging the major ones in the new flat. There were minor damages / scratches to the furnitures like tables & chairs - they were not willing to wrap claiming its not needed for short distance.
Major concern is my camera went missing in the transportation. When I reported the same, they didn't come back with any update. I spoke to Mr. Syed over phone. Here is the extract of the mail I sent to them as follow up.
Mail to Ascent Packers & Movers:
Further to our telephone discussion on the Camera - went missing during the transportation,
I checked my house thoroughly for possible misplacement. I didn't find it. The camera bag/cover was empty when we picked it from the trolley used during the shifting. This clearly suggests that the camera went missing during transportation. I feel bad that I have to suffer this loss inspite of treating your folks so well and giving them Rs 400 as tips. Did you get a chance to talk to your employees regarding the same? Please let me know.
Camera Spec: Nikon Coolpix - touch screen model - S4000, Bought in USA,
Market Price: Rs 6 - 7 K.
Here are the sequence of events:
On the day of packing, all the electronic items + camera were spread across by work table. I intended to pack them separately and carry the bag with me in car. We put all the items in a trolly bag and kept it separately. I was away briefly - to buy cool drinks from a nearby shop. When I came back, I found the trolley missing - I was told its been moved to the vehicle. I trusted your folks and hoped it would arrive safely.
In the new flat, presence of cover (hardcover) in the trolley made us believe that the camera was safe inside. Few days later, when we were arranging the items in that trolley, we found the cover to be empty.
